ESG Regulatory Obligations - Why comply?

This study investigates which factors influence organizations to comply with the regulations initiated by the EU Sustainable Finance Strategy plan. Organizations subject to fewer regulations perceived enforcement as less risky but were equally motivated to comply. Promoting social good and normative motives while addressing high enforcement risk perception for heavily regulated organizations is crucial for fostering compliance.

Lotte van Meerten has over 7 years of experience in different organisations in the financial services industry (banking, private banking, investment management, payment service providers, pension service providers). Her core expertise relates to the following topics: regulatory compliance, risk management, governance, monitoring, training & awareness related to different topics such as anti-financial crime, ESG, conflicts of interest and corporate governance. She is eager to learn, enthusiastic, ambitious and analytic criminologist with a heart for compliance, conduct, integrity management and risk management.

Corporate Social Responsibility and government intervention
My presentation is about the final essay I wrote for the Compliance & Integriteit Management Leergang at the VU in Amsterdam. The aim of the essay is to explore whether increased government intervention (through EU Directive 2014/95) triggered an observable response in CSR activities. To address the research question, content analysis is used on a total of 20 annual reports, following a pre-selected framework of CSR dimensions.

Marit van der Ent has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, both in the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Passionate about fighting financial crime. Likes to learn, eat, read and run.
