Speakers

Stephan Kramer

Working as an Associate Professor of Accounting and Control at RSM, Erasmus University, Stephan uses archival and experimental methods to study the influence of incentive system design, governance mechanisms, target setting practices and performance evaluation on managerial behavior. Stephan holds a PhD from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management (Germany) and a MSc degree in Business Information Systems from the University of Münster (Germany).

His research has been published in prestigious journals such as The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, Contemporary Accounting Research, Accounting, Organizations and Society, Management Accounting Research and Abacus. In 2016, he and his co-authors won the David Solomon’s prize for the best article of the year in Management Accounting Research. Stephan's award-winning teaching experience spans various undergraduate, graduate, and executive programs.

He taught courses including Financial Analytics and AI, Financial Decision Making, Management Accounting, Risk Management, Accounting Information Systems, and Fraud and Forensic Investigations.  Stephan is also actively involved in several initiatives that bridge academic research and professional practice in the field of accounting. 

Andrew Rufener

Andrew Rufener is Senior Manager at Finalix Business Consulting. He is currently based in Switzerland and focuses on artificial intelligence and advanced technology solutions in financial services and insurance.
 
Andrew holds a Msc in Mechanical Engineering and a Msc Software Engineering, both from Universities in Switzerland. Andrew also holds an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), The Netherlands.
 
Prior to his current position Andrew held senior positions with technology companies and data driven organizations internationally, in Europe, Asia, and the US. Most recently, Andrew worked with TMC2, an AI Venture Studio in London, was CEO of CrossLang, and prior to that CEO of Omniscien Technologies, COO of Lexis Nexis IP Business and CTO and Member of the Board of Directors at Sanoma Learning.
